what a difference a year makes

this picture was taken a year ago. we decided while we were in paris to go back to versailles. the time before we had only explored the grounds. which was totally amazing by the way. i had gone to all the fabulous bakeries and delis near our hotel in the marais and bought some tastey treats for a picnic. we walked for hours most of the time it was just us. it was truly a magical experience to be alone in versailles. so this last time we went i insisted we had to go back and go inside. well, this was a very different experience. we took the wrong train to begin with adding an hour onto a twenty minute trip. when we arrived there was an incredibly long line to buy tickets. i don't even remember a line at all the time before. it was raining while we waited in line and the woman behind me insisted on standing on my heels. when we finally made it inside it was like being in a closterfobic persons nightmare. people everywhere! i mean everywhere there was someone pushing you out of the way to take a photo. it was totally intense. sometimes when i'm around that many people i can't help but get overwhelmed with the crazy energy. this is not a good thing because then i become crazy just like the rest of them. so we made our way out of there as quickly as possible. sometimes you shouldn't mess with the universe. lesson learned.

went to flora grubbe today. one of the greatest places on earth in my book. plants, coffee and dogs everywhere. we used one of the gift certificates we got for christmas and are now the proud new owners of this big guy and his new pot-home. i love him so.

today i am just going to remind myself to not take everything so seriously. i think it's time to stop thinking and take a break from seriousland.

oldie but a goodie

one of my best friends has moved back to san francisco!!!
i'm so excited. it's been roughly eight years since we lived in the same town. since then we've had to be long distance buddies. now we are back in business. today we had the most wonderful visit. today was one of those days where you just feel like anything can happen!!!

wild animal

well, the vet thing has been put on hold yet again. we have decided to try a new strategy. we are also enlisting the help of a behaviorist and a psychic. yesterday was a difficult day. today is a new day and i need to remind myself that riley is an animal. i love that guy but boy oh boy does he test me. i'm going to take out my frustrations on garage clutter. i've been needing to do some work in there. i guess i must remind myself that there is no such thing as perfect.

today we are trying to go to the vet one last time. if this doesn't work we are going to have a vet come to the house for mr. riley moody pants. the thing is i'm not sure that will work either. he just doesn't want someone to poke him with a shot. who does? well i'm hoping it doesn't come to that. we just went on an hour walk and in a minute i'm going to give him his special pills. geez i'm hoping this works. maybe i should take one of the pills too? wishing myself luck!!!

riley

we love us some riley dog. he's such a funny guy. he definitely has a special personality. he's aware of his likes and dislikes. he loves food and frisbee. hates the vet. he's our special guy. we love him so. cheers to riley!!

good day

nice saturday in san francisco. made breakfast,took a couple walks with peter and the dog. went and had coffee and saw my cousin. got some landscape inspirations for our front yard. now a little shopping is on the list and morocaon grilled chicken for dinner.
the weather is beautiful today too.

feeling it

started back with the pilates last night. i'm really feeling it today. weird thing is i'm liking the pain.
